Found this framed vintage map of Africa on Etsy. I can’t tell you much about this map beyond the fact that it may have been created in the midst of imperialism. I wish I could tell you more, because it’s home – but I can’t. I’m sure I can relay messages and lessons learned from my own research, but sometimes those patriarchal stories passed down to us that are taken for granted validate connections to our roots. All I can do is rely on my own strength to know that this is home and that’s all that matters.
